Fresh tastes: spring menu

Last week we welcomed some of the top dogs from Switzerland into our Bankside restaurant to showcase all of the new spring menu arrivals.

Gabriel, the head honcho of all food and beverage for tibits, walked us through the carefully planned springtime selection and the emphasis was on freshness and locality. Whilst tibits is a Swiss brand, we make every effort to source ingredients from London based suppliers, not only to reduce environmental impact but also to give back to our community.

We think it’s really important that food doesn’t travel far and we also think seasonality is key. Gabriel explained that whilst some of the dishes featured in the tasting session were out of season, these were one-offs and dishes would only be made during the season once produce was available. Local food, ripened by nature; unbeatable, we all agreed.

Tasting commenced and we were whisked through delicious items from the cold section; Black & White Chickpea Salad, Raw Pad Thai Vegetables, Power Greens and Carrotlox. Back by popular demand we have our Caeser Salad (vegan hero) and our Kisir which is a traditional Turkish dish made from bulgur wheat and vegetables with juicy pomegranate seeds. This was followed by a tasting of our hot section and firm favourites were Onde al Limone with Asparagus, Palak Paneer, Arroz Negro and Kimchi Tempeh Stir-fry. Tummies were fit to burst at this point, but nothing deterred us from the dessert offerings. New to the boat were a delicious Almond Sponge and Rhubarb & Apple Crumble as well as familiar faces like Crème Caramel and Carrot Halwa.

Going live on March 8th, come in and treat your taste buds to our new menu and an uplifting selection of spring dishes. Please note that from this date our entire beverage offering is now vegan with very few exceptions and we are really pleased to be able to have made this change thanks to our guests’ feedback.
